Platanias exudes peace and hospitality. Unlike the bustling Skiathos Town, the pace of life here is slower. The beach offers plenty of space for sunbathing, as well as natural shade provided by the surrounding pine trees in some areas. You can try your hand at water sports or simply enjoy a gentle walk to the small chapel of Agia Paraskevi, which preserves the tradition of this place.
How to Reach
Getting to Platanias is effortless. Bus Stop 16 (Agia Paraskevi / Platanias) is located right at the entrance of the valley. From there, a flat road of about 200 meters leads you straight to the beach. For those with cars, there are several public parking areas along the road and near the local tavernas.

Platanias and Agia Paraskevi host one of the most famous local 'panigyri' festivals on the island every summer on **July 26th**. If you are on the island, don't miss the chance to experience traditional live music, local food, and dancing in the church courtyard right behind the beach area.
