Agia Eleni is a hidden gem on the west coast, named after the small chapel nearby. It’s a beautiful, sandy bay that is especially famous for being the last place on the island to see the sun. While Koukounaries is in the shade, Agia Eleni is still bathed in golden light. The waters are shallow, crystal clear, and usually very calm, making it a perfect spot for families and sunset chasers alike.
A stylish beach bar with chill-out music, excellent cocktails, and a very relaxed atmosphere.

VIEW DETAILS →Agia Eleni has a unique "chilled" energy. It’s less formal than the luxury resorts but more organized than the remote northern beaches. You can rent kayaks or paddleboards to explore the small caves around the bay. Most people arrive in the early afternoon and stay until the very last second of daylight to enjoy the breathtaking views of the mainland.
Take the bus to **Stop 25**. From there, follow the sign-posted dirt road for about 10-15 minutes. The walk is easy and mostly flat. If you are driving, there is a parking area near the beach, though it can get crowded in peak season.
This is widely considered the **best sunset spot** on the island. For a unique experience, visit the tiny Agia Eleni chapel on the edge of the bay just before the sun goes down—the light there is spectacular for photography.
